Traveling to Virginia

Crisscrossed with numerous interstates, Virginia is easily one of the most transportation-fueled states in the United States. For those using personal transportation, Virginia offers Interstates 74, 64, and 66 running east and west, and 77, 81, 85 and 95 running north and south. There are also a number of national parkways in the state, including the Blue Ridge Parkway and the George Washington Parkway.

Flying into Virginia is an easy alternative for out-of-state visitors, with Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Reagan National Airports (DCA) serving the northern regions of the state and Richmond International Airport (RIC) offering the best access to central Virginia. After flying in, be sure to rent a car or use the airport shuttle service to get into town.
